What is the future of the energy sector?

Energy Trends is a report drawn up by the Utilities area of NTT DATA, aimed at providing an overview of current trends in the energy macro-sector, in terms of venture capital investments in technology start-ups and new business models. It allows us to anticipate potential changes in the sector in view of the investments that have been made.

Scope of the report

To draw up the Energy Trends Report, NTT DATA has traced and analysed investments by the 33 largest energy companies (by turnover) in the 2018-2020 period. Similarly, to provide the most recent data possible, the 84 investment events that occurred in the first half of 2021 were also analysed.
